Municipality building and city center square, Kiryat Shmona

Design of the new municipality building (around 7,500 m2), preparing a master plan to develop Kiryat Shmona’s main business center, in collaboration with the municipality, Ministry of Tourism, the Israel Government Tourism Company, and the Infrastructure Development Company. The design won a commissioned architects competition, and addresses all land uses in the area, planning the open squares, rehabilitating areas for offices, commerce, tourism, traffic and transportation, preserving and improving the appearance of the area, preparing a master plan and zoning changes according to the plan, with special emphasis on urban design aspects and creating continuity for pedestrian traffic between all the city’s hotspots and important sites. The project was given honorable mention as part of the Ayalon Award for urban design for the year 2000.
